Stomach Pains

So, at 3 a.m. yesterday, I woke up in extreme pain from my upper stomach, right under my ribs. This lastest all day and even got worse in the afternoon, I was doubled over in pain. I went to the doctor, who was in a hurry to leave and said it was probably an ulcer and prescribed Prilosec. To which I was upset and reminded him I already on Prilosec!!! He prescribed a more expensive drug which does the same thing as Prilosec, hello! I dont need a drug that is doing the same thing as the one Im already taking! Anyway, I was doubled over in pain and not thinking clearly and in no shape to argue. So I went home. It got worse, we almost went to the emergency room. But around 9 p.m. the pain went away but a migraine came on and I was so dizzy. The next morning I went back to the doctor to tell him there was no need to do the upper G.I. x-ray that he wanted to do, but my lower right abdomen was hurting now. Of course thats a red flag for appendicitis. So off I went to do a C.T. scan. Ive had a CT scan before but let me spare you the details and just say that two I.V.'s later and a gallon of water poured in my butt because Im too skinny for the CT to see my appendix-not fun.
Anyway, my appendix was fine but there was fluid in my abdomen. They are guessing I had a burst ovarian cyst. Gosh, can anything else be wrong with me?!! I have so many small problems wrong with me. Dont get me wrong, Im glad they are small and usually easily fixed but geez, I feel like an old person trapped in a young person's body sometimes. Well, Im feeling a little better, tender though and I cannot get rid of this stupid headache! Thanks for all the phone calls from friends to check on me. I guess I am loved!!!

BYU vs Utah

Biggest game of the year and who got two free tickets the day before the game? WE DID! Yes, thanks to my bro Jason, we got the tickets. Shout out to Debbie for coming to work early for Brett so we could scream our guts out and have a blast.
Of course, BYU WON! Whooo!

Thanksgiving

We celebrated Thanksgiving at Brett's parent's house where his brother is currently living and my brother came down from Idaho too. It was a blast. It was everyone's first time cooking a turkey and it turned out good! We had a blast playing Guitar Hero, shopping, talking and eating!!

Anniversary Celebration

Four years of wedded bliss. I cant believe it. It all been so wonderful and amazing how our love has grown. We didnt have much time on our anniversary, so we went to dinner at the Chef's Table (my fav). Then, in early November, Brett planned our usual weekend getaway to celebrate, so I had no idea what we were doing.
It started with dinner Thursday night at Noodles, then we drove to SLC and stayed at the Anniversary Inn- the Romeo and Juliet room- it was pretty much just a fancy looking house/room. But it was nicer and more fun than I thought. And no, Carrie it was not too kinky (is that how you spell that?)but Ill leave that up to your imagination. haha. Brett made me two baskets as usual, full of goodies- new comfy outfit,slippers, treats, dvds, etc. Not to mention a wonderful letter full of goosh, money to blow and a manicure and pedicure at the Zermott, where we stayed the next two nights.
We did a lot of shopping in SL, Park City and also enjoyed Temple Square. I was thoroughly spoiled with attention and gifts and loved every minute of it. Well, it was a wonderful weekend and now Boo's only problem is that he has outdone himself again! Now the pressure is on for next year!!!

Halloween Party

After Jon and Kaylene moving to Texas, Brett and I feared our beloved Halloween party getaway was gone forever. But alas, April and Dave saved the day by hosting a fabulous Halloween party at April's parent's adorable family home in Midway.
We started the evening by decorating the founding fathers statue in the front yard so he looked appropriate for Halloween, then we ate pizza and other yummy treats, did a cake walk -I came in last place :( Followed by putting on our costumes, watching Ghost Busters and the boys golfed on the Wii.
Everyone's costumes were so great, Brett and I were lame and went as "serial killers". But at least we werent the biggest party poopers of the night. That award goes to Andrea and Jake; Andrea being "Pam" from the office and Jake wearing a Hawaiian shirt. Aaron went as a Mexican and Kim was a "Border Patrol Officer". Lastly, but certainly not least- April was "Punky Brewster" and the official winner of the night was Dave as "MR. T"
Well, we stayed over night but had to leave early in the morning to make it to Brett's parents farwell talks in their ward. THANK YOU Dave and April for hosting a fabulous party!!!

Deseret Towers

My beloved BYU is tearing down Deseret Towers, my first home here in S-hall. This summer they tore down two halls already and now they are preparing to tear down the rest. So I walked over on my way to the bookstore (where I got a new dress :)and took pictures to remember my first semester here at BYU.
Gosh, taking the pics reminded me of the many memories I have there. It was a ton of fun and that is when I fell in love with this campus. I loved my professors, classes, the social life and everything BYU has to offer. However, I also remember being so homesick and also missing my best friend Brett, who had just left on his mission. As much as I miss being a student, Im glad Brett is back, that we are married and that I graduated.
So goodbye my first dorm, first college experience and the BYU tradition of "DT".

Family Reunion

During the last week of August, the Lindsay family had a reunion at Bear Lake. It was a lot of fun and gave us all a chance to be around each other before Jim and Marlene head off to Cairo, Egypt for their two year mission for our church.

Besides losing my purse in Logan on the way up, it was very relaxing. (the purse was shortly recovered the next morning thanks to Brett driving back to Logan-thanks Boo!)

Busy Summer!

Here's a brief bite of our sweet summer. We have decided that since this is our last year in Utah we want to see the sights unique to the area. In June we hiked to the Timpanogos cave, it was a great hike and a beautiful view from the top. We weren't sure how long it would take us to get to the entrance of the cave. The park ranger at the bottom of the trail (who sells the tickets for the cave tour) told us most people take about an hour and a half. We were sure to leave a little more than 90 minutes before our tour so we could be certain to be on time. Unfortunately we're both in such amazing shape that we made it up the trail in a litte under 40 minutes! We enjoyed the view for the hour + wait till our tour, but it was fun. We made it back in one piece, but the next day we were both sore!
I finished my third semester in the nursing program at BYU and that qualified me to challenge the LPN exam. I spent some time studying for the test and finally took it. After a few sleepless nights I broke down and paid for the rapid results. I passed! It's a great feeling to have this test out of the way and know that next summer I'll be taking the NCLEX to become an RN!
Heather went to Minnesota to help her Mom with some of the details and choices for the new house. While she was there she met the newest member of the Hutchinson family, Princess. Grandma Barb's new pure white cat is still getting used to being spoiled in her new cat stroller.


At the begining of July Grant (Jason and Amanda's son) was blessed. We went up to Boise to participate in the blessing and see the family again before they take off for Minnesota. That's all for now, we've had a full schedule all summer and it doesn't seem like it's going to quit anytime soon.

Tiff and John

Ok, so my wonderful self set up my friends roommate (Tiffany) with Brett's old high school buddy (John) a couple months ago. And can you believe it, they've set a date! August 3rd! I'm so excited for them and a bit proud of myself as well!

But I must give a shout out to Boo Bear (Brett) who locked me out which ultimately led me to hooking them up and another shout out to Megan, otherwise, I never would have met Tiffany. Aren't they cute (all because of ME!)

The Gangs All Here

Ok, so I keep thinking about adding to the blog, but I was doubting whether I was going to get rid of it all together or not, but for now I'm not so I've got a lot of catching up to do.

Most recently we went to our friends Phil and Jennifer's new house (which is beautiful!) it made Brett and I really wish we were out of school and in a house of our own. On the bright side, next month we will be down to the one year mark! So anyway, we went to celebrate Phil's birthday, and of course we had a blast at the party (although the long drive to Toole wasn't the highlight of the evening) we played "Guitar Hero" on Jon's playstation and I actually liked it! I usually don't like video games but the Wii and Guitar Hero are actually something I enjoyed! I snagged a photo of Brett rockin' out. He yelled at me as I took the photo because I interupted his groove.

Back at the end of January I went out to Boise to be with my family before Cameron went into the MTC. My brother Jason also came out from Minnesota. Neither of the spouses (Brett and Amanda) were there so it was the original Hanberg gang. We did my great-grandma Ruth's and my aunt Laura's temple work while we were out there, Courtney did the baptisms with Cameron and my mom did Laura's inititory and endowment and I did Grandma's. It was very cool. In the endowment, there were extra women and so my mom and I got to sit next to Dad, Jason and Cameron. We had a row just for our family, it was cool that it worked out that way, let alone while we were doing family names and just before Cameron left. Then, on Sunday, after Cameron was set apart, Jason and Cameron gave Dad an amazing blessing, then Jason, Mom and I all got blessings from Dad. It was emotional but wonderful.
I drove back down with Cameron, Mom and Courtney to take Cameron to the MTC. Dad had to stay home for treatment and Jason flew back home. It was emotional once again to put Cameron in the MTC but I was so glad that I was able to be there. It still hard now knowing Cameron is just across the street from us. I miss him so much already.

January Happenings

Well, its been awhile since my last post and I feel bad that I haven't posted anything till now. Although, this is still a lot better than when I try to write in my journal. The last couple of weeks have been crazy. We found out that my dad has been diagnosed with colorectal cancer and is estimated to be at level 3 (levels range from 0-4). I was upset at first, finding myself crying at random times, but its has gotten better. My dad found a really good surgeon at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and we are really hopeful. Dad will recieve chemo and radiation for 5 weeks then 7 weeks off, then surgury, then 6 months of chemo. The chemo will be in low doses, so his hair may thin but probably not fall out. Hopefully, the move to Minnesota won't interfere with his treatments. His work is being really understanding but Dad, being the workaholic that he is, has a hard time letting go and not being there. I sent an email out to my friends asking them to pray for my dad and I got amazing support and wonderful responses from all of them. I can't help but think that the calmness I've felt since is because of the prayers being offered for my family. My friends all over the country went and put his name in the temple roll.
On a lighter note, Brett and I were able to go to our friends cabin last weekend and that was a blast as usual. Although we didn't get much sleep, it was a lot of fun and very relaxing to be with friends. We will miss them so much when we leave Utah. I have also had a lot of time spent on my calling lately which is exhausting but very rewarding.

New Year, New Me

Happy New Year Everyone!
I have decided to start my own blog, seeing as how everyone has one it seems and what a better way to journalize the year of 2007. And so I will start at the beginning...2007 began at our friends Niel and Jodi's house in Lehi. We had a great time with all our friends there. We introduced our fellow partiers to fondue! Jodi made a delicious French cheese fondue for starters, we did an oil fondue and Phil and Jennifer brought their chocolate fountain for dessert. Brett and I also enjoyed playing with Niel and Jodi's two cats; Tonka and Tia. The cats were so fun to play with but left Brett and I yearning for a cat of our own. We planned the party to end at 10:00 p.m. so that those with kids could get back and also Brett and I had to work on New Year's Day, but we couldn't help but stay late and ended up going to bed after 1:30 which made for a tired day at work and the sad realization that our bodies have changed since high school.
