Rivarly Week

In the words of a fellow blogger and true blue cougar(crazycrains.blogspot.com), "...anyone with a big red "U" on his/her shirt is not evil or inferior, they are just misguided. These people should be prayed for."
GO COUGARS!

Millions of Peaches, Peaches for me

just a few of what we peeled and canned!
So forever ago (like September), my mom and I canned peaches, peach jam and strawberry jam. I just remembered and thought I would tell you all! Aren't you all proud of me? It's my first attempt at food storage besides rotataing my mom's for her and stocking up on sale items. Very yummy too.

INTRODUCING...

Reese Foxy Boots
We finally got our cat! Brett's been itching to get one since we moved here but I made him wait till we were in the house. She was sick the first two weeks we had her, which was heartbreaking but boy is she better now! She is about 5 months old. We originally wanted a tiny 8 week old kitten but every one we looked at just didn't fit. Now we are WAY glad we didn't get a younger one because she is so much work right now and I'm glad she is that much older and closer to calming down.
The name? Well Brett always wanted a cat with boots so he could name it Mr./Ms. Boots (insert english accent). Reese has boots which is perfect but the name didn't fit. Foxy came up because she has a crazy thick tail that doesn't match the rest of her body. And finally, some neighbor boys suggested Reeses because she looks like peanut butter and chocolate. So thats how Reese came about and we kept the other names as a middle and last name.
She is very cuddly when she settles down and when she isn't calmed down, she is a total spaz. Here are her favs right now...
chasing her tail
attacking her reflection in the mirror
water water and water! she loves baths, sinks and playing in her water bowl We discovered this when we gave her a bath and she LIKED it
pouncing on us when we are in bed
waiting around corners and jumping out at us (almost peed my pants once or twice)
chasing our feet
playing with anything and everything, especially things she is not supposed to
loving on us. which includes purring, grabbing our faces with her paws and licking our chins
Of course I can never catch the funny stuff on video.

Kitchen Update

Ok, so blogger loaded these pics in a different order than I thought, so the "Before" pic is at the bottom. Here's the "After". I wish you all could see the true color because it is the PERFECT shade I was looking for. It's called "bennington gray" - doesn't that just sound GOOD too! Yes, I know I am totally boring choosing a neutral color but I rather like it. Take notice of the new fridge and range. They are maytags that were on clearance due to dents, so dont look too closely.
Eventually, we want to put in a granite island and replace the other counters as well. Notice my Scentsy warmers! You MUST check out the new catalog- the minis are amazing and they rotate in case your plugs are upside down or sideways!

We played with the idea of getting stainless steel appliances since we had to buy the two most expensive appliances in the kitchen anyway but it came down to money and we went with the white. Oh well, I still like it. I do NOT like the floors but eventually we want hardwood floors too. But who knows when "eventually" will come.

What a difference paint makes! Goodbye ugly pinky purple! Thanks to my mom for helping a TON! More pics to come on other rooms.

Changes

well, voting day is here and I enjoyed casting my vote in a non-Republican state thinking that maybe, just maybe my vote counts or atleast helped make the winning margin smaller. And if you have any questions about why I voted the way I did, check out therhouse.blogspot.com, that woman rocks! Lil sister Courtney and her friend made "NOBAMA, NOPE" t-shirts for school today! which is very brave considering the states largest high school has only a handful of LDS students and is very liberal! Go Courtney!

Sorry about the boring blogging lately, I have a lot of catching up to do. Hopefully I can do that soon...

Here are some latest happenings for now-
- moved into the house last week
- went to our new ward and was mistaken for a young woman
- went to the DMV and was mistaken for being under 18
- bought a second car, dont worry, no tears- we paid cash but now I want to cry due to the empty bank account
- had another miscarriage (apparently got pregnant two weeks after last miscarriage. Didnt know I was pregnant till they found heartbeat at miscarriage #1 check up) Trying to move on again...
- started new job #1 and just accepted new job #2 today ( not looking forward to working 6 days a week)
- looking forward to paychecks though! and enjoying working as well (its a love/hate relationship)
- celebrated anniversary #5, crazy I know
- brought a kitten home, our anniversary gift to each other, pics to come
- sick of painting and working on the house but LOVE the color which came after much debating
- loved the record high of 74 yesterday and 70 today (who says MN is cold! Just Kidding- I know its coming! Yikes!)

I'll hopefully have time to add pics and more details later! Go vote if you haven't!
