Birthdays and Babies

On April 17th, we had another Russell get-together. We celebrated Gabrielle and Michael's birthdays. Uncle Tom made the whole dinner again, after biking 100 miles that day. We all got to meet baby Gavin who is tiny and adorable. Sarah looked amazing and Josh was a super dad.
The family gatherings have grown quickly in the last 8 months with three new babies. Instead of the adults eating and the kids playing, there are now bouncy seats, jumpers, car seats, bottles and pureed food scattered everywhere. Gavin and Parker even had a little poo party of their own (Taylor was a lady and did not join in).

Macy's Flower Show

At the beginning of April, we went to the Macy Flower Show downtown. It was quite impressive and did not disappoint. Parker seemed to enjoy himself but cried on the way home. There were a lot of senior citzs there and that made the crowd slow moving. Besides all the strollers and wheelchairs, all the wind-up disposable cameras brought the crowds to a stand still each time someone wanted to take a picture.

Is that chocolate or poop?

(title comes from the movie "Baby Mama")

WARNING: This post is about POOP.

Three encounters with poop yesterday:

Ahoy Says Poo- While giving Parker his bath in the sink, he went to the bathroom. Not cool. I had to re-wash him and sterilize the sink.

Bombs Away- After the bath and our nightly wrestling match to put lotion on, Parker started crawling away and grunted like he was going to go to the bathroom. I jumped up and grabbed him to put him on his towel, but alas, two bombs were dropped mid-air on the carpet as I was running with him.

Tootsie Roll- When Brett got home he asked if that was poop on the kitchen table. I told him no, why would there be poop on the kitchen table? But sure enough, there was a tootsie roll and it was NOT chocolate. I think it must have fallen out of his diaper when I was taking his clothes and diaper off for his bath. I know, disgusting. Please don't let this keep you from coming over to our house. I very completely sanitized the table, I promise!

Beary Cute

This little man is 7 months old. Army crawling, rocking back and forth, pulling himself up on furniture and saying "ma-ma" are amongst his latest tricks. Still super smiley and full of laughs. He has a great sense of humor and will laugh when others are laughing and smile back at news anchors on the t.v. He saves his best laughs for Dad. He likes to bury his face in Reese and follows her around the house. He loves to be social with other babies, he had a great time when I stopped by the daycare one day and also when I watched my friend's triplets (four babies- how fun!). He is still very talkative and pretty much talks all day. He will also "sing" along with me when I sing to him before bed. It is sad to see him get big so quick and yet each new phase is so fun!

Wedgie

Poor Parker. After a couple hours of funny faces, jumping and lots of grunting, we finally figured out that Parker had a diaper wedgie. We just thought he was uncomfortable from teething (he has three top teeth coming in).

Here Comes Trouble

Look at this new trick. Yikes!

Easter 2010

Grandma and Grandpa Hanberg bought Parker the ball and outfit and the Easter Bunny brought Parker a ball and snacks.
We spent Easter at our house where my parents and sister joined us to watch General Conference. My mom made sure there where plenty of snacks, healthy and not so healthy (the best kind!). Since we had ham on Saturday we decided to go non-traditional and grill burgers on Easter. Oh they were good. It was a beautiful day and between Conference, Parker kept us very entertained. We are grateful for Christ's resurrection and the chance we have to hear from a Prophet and Apostles.

Lucky Lindsay Lad

We went to my Grandma's house for dinner where she made corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. Brett was surprised that he quite enjoyed the corned beef.
Parker's First Saint Patrick's Day.

I hadn't planned this ahead of time, but Parker had avacado for the first time on St. Patty's day. How appropriately green!
