Getting Ready for our little butt-head

 I can't believe we will have another one of these!

Boo-yah, here I am HEAVY with child. 37 weeks, dialated to 3, 70% effaced. (currently 37 weeks-don't be so surprised that I blogged this photo so quickly!)

Our little butt-head earned his nickname by being head up at 35 weeks. What the doctor and I always assumed was his butt (right where Parker's butt used to be as well) was really a head! Yikes. His feet were also in a kneeling position, not fetal position. Which the doctor said might actually help him flip because his bum wasn't stuck in my pelvis. No wonder I was uncomfortable! I had a version scheduled for 37 weeks and a c-section scheduled at 39 weeks. Versions are a bit controversial but I wanted to try anything before just going with a c-section. I did some handstands, which are supposed to help the baby tuck their chin so they can flip. For one, I am so glad no one had to see that except Brett (he got a good laugh) and two, if you think breathing at 9 months pregnant is hard- try doing it upside down! That night I thought I felt him flip, but by the morning he felt like he was back to the same old position. It is really hard to tell what this baby is doing because he moves a lot. I had to see a different doctor at 36 weeks and he said the baby felt head down! I was really excited but didn't want to get my hopes up. This week my regular doctor checked and he really is head down! No version or c-section at this point! I am sooooo happy! The doctor thinks he is low enough now that he couldn't flip back, even if he wanted to. I am not sure if it really was the handstands or prayers but I am so glad my little baby decided to cooperate! What a guy! 

Now I am just really uncomfortable and a bit anxious for our little world to change. We have all had terrible colds, especially Brett and now I feel behind getting everything ready for baby. I feel like I missed my opportunity to clean the house and get the shopping done because now I have braxton-hicks contractions anytime I do much of anything. But whatever happens, baby is coming and we are so excited to meet him!

Tub Time

 I was such a proud mama when I took this photo-Parker knows a few of this favorite letters, one of which is "O". He drew an "o" with his bathtub crayon and said, "look mom, o!" What a genius my baby is!

 By the way, the blue tub water is from a "fizzy tub colors".

 Parker loves his bathrobe from Christmas. He usually insisted on wearing his towel after a bath, but would get very frustrated when it would fall off. The bathrobe is the perfect solution, problem solved!

Here I am at 30 weeks! I am currently 35, almost 36 weeks.

Holiday Fun 2011

     
  The week of Christmas, we did a lot fun activities with my family. Parker enjoyed bowling for the first time. His favorite part was watching for the ball to return. The little bowling shoes he got were ADORABLE but the little stinker refused to wear them. Not even for a picture. He also went ice skating for the first time. He LOVED ice skating. And the little ice skates were just as cute as the little bowling shoes! It was amazing how quickly he got better just in the short time he was there. Parker is at that age where he loves physical comedy. Anytime he saw someone fall, crash, or lose control on the ice, he busted out laughing. We hoped that no one realized he was laughing at them! He also loved having the entire family focusing on him and giving him attention. He is lucky to be the only grandchild around right now (although baby brother will quickly change this). Although, I am sure Parker would love playing with his cousins just as much as all the attention he gets too. We also went to Culver's (cheese curds, burgers, fries and frozen custard all in one place- one of the reasons we love MN!), the Mall of America (someone gave us free passes to the amusement park!), watched some movies and played games. We had so much fun and look forward to any time we have with family.

Christmas Day 2011

Some trucks I saved from garage sales this summer. Parker calls this his "biiiggg" truck.

Lucky, lucky boy. We spent about $10 on Parker. He has many family members that love him and are determined to spoil him.

We spent Christmas morning going to church. It was a great Sacrament meeting and we stayed for 30 or 40 minutes talking with friends afterward. Everyone was mingling and chatty. It was really nice to start Christmas like that. It was also nice that Parker isn't old enough to be upset about waiting to open presents! He didn't even know it was coming! After presents, we put Parker down for his (and subsequently our) nap. When he woke up we drove to my parent's house. Cameron, Courtney and my Grandma were there along with my parents. We also got to meet Maddie, Cameron's girlfriend who flew in Christmas afternoon (she is cute, fun, smart..the whole package). After more presents, Grandma went home and we had our annual fondue dinner. We also watched some church Christmas videos and played some games. It was another great Christmas!
