Independence Day 2013

We had a great Fourth of July, packed with fun and some firsts for Parker. It started with a bike parade and breakfast with the ward.
Everyone loved Parker's Berg bike from Uncle Matt. Lots of kids wanted to try the steering wheel!
Giving Eli a ride on the back to the Berg.
Parker loves a good hearty breakfast, he was so excited for pancakes.
 The whole fam
We came home to change and get ready for the lake house. As we were packing the car, the ice cream truck pulled up and Parker got to try ice cream truck goodness for the first time (they usually come during nap time). Tate was still napping so he missed out, poor guy. Tate did get to try some later in the summer but I didn't get a photo.
Parker wanted batman ice cream with bubble gum eyes. He has recently been really into Super Heroes like Batman and Superman even though he has never seen a show with them before. He learns it from his friends at church. It really cute to see him love all things boy.
oh yeah! It was cherry flavored, I may or may not have asked him to share :)
Then we went to Anne and Kevin's lake house and the weather was perfect.

Parker and Courtney in the kayak.

Me, Parker and Courtney tubing. This was Parker's first time. We went really slow, I think he enjoyed it but he kept his face down because he didn't like the water spraying his face. The water was really warm which made me happy because I can't stand cold water!
 Sarah, Nana, Courtney
 That's the life.
Kevin with Tate in the front kayak and Brett with Parker in the back kayak.
Parker has been asking for a while to try fishing. He finally got a chance!
This was Parker's first time fishing.
Luckily, there are plenty of fish waiting to eat by the Horn's dock.
Success! Also, Parker has entered the cheesy/anything-but-natural-smile phase of childhood :)
Fire pit with sparkler and fireworks.
Tate wanted a turn in the driving seat of the boat.

Music in Plymouth 2013

The weather was perfect this year, not hot and sticky like last year. Brett was able to get out of clinical early and come home. We were really glad he didn't miss out since Music in Plymouth is one of our favorite things. Brett was starting a new clinical site in Willmar, MN that week. That meant he stayed at the hospital during the week. He came home Friday nights and left Sunday after church. Plus he studied on Saturdays. It was a long and lonely 10 weeks for me!
 Annie and Taters
 Good food, family and music!
This is Sarah and Parker. Sarah was Courtney's roommate at BYU-I and came to live with my parents and Courtney during the summer. She was really nice and was amazing with the boys. She played with them endlessly which helped me catch a little break with Brett living out of town.
 Kevin and Anne
I have some video of this too...but Parker was dancing and jousting with his light stick during the orchestra music. He especially liked the Star Wars music (he doesn't even know what Star Wars is). It was really entertaining and unusual for Parker to "perform" in front of others.

Father's Day 2013

We made Brett a yummy breakfast on Saturday to avoid a hectic Sunday morning before 9 am church.
Our ward did the usual dessert bar for the men at church, which Brett enjoys.
After church and naps, Anne and Kevin invited us to try out their brand new custom pontoon boat. They bought a lake house this winter and now that the weather is nice we have really enjoyed the lake! We are glad that they are only 15 minutes away from us. We can spend all day enjoying the lake and come home to our own beds at night. It doesn't get better than that!
It was beautiful weather and the boys had a blast!
Kids love Kevin and he is great with them!
Tate didn't enjoy his life jacket but he still had fun.
Tate loved the wind blowing his hair.
 Grandma Barb was there too!

After the boat ride, we went to my parent's house for steak dinner. I think it's safe to say that Brett had a good day! He is a great dad and we love him.

Around Here: June 2013

 Tate loves to cause trouble!
He is most often found here though...

I have a ton of pictures of this moment, it was so sweet! Parker decided that he wanted to put Tate to bed. He has done this several times since then.

This is Parker's "I'm just finken (thinking)" face.

Sack of Taters in his sleep sack.

 Whoops! That was some kiss!
 Chocolate pudding time!
Reese loves to sprawl out like this with one leg hanging on each side. I guess its comfortable for her!
 Pretty Kitty
If Tate find my hair clips, he will insist on wearing them all day. I have to remember to take them out when we go to the store so he doesn't look like a girl!

Sometimes Reese naps on the changing table. Tate loves to lay on her and it helps distract him while I am changing his diaper.
Once in a while she gets annoyed and jumps down.

Tate loves to stick his face in water! He does this in the bathtub too and I am always worried about him in water. He comes up gagging and choking but he loves it.

Parker is so sweet to "help" ;)
