Annie's Helicopter and National Night Out

 Annie and her helicopter!
Parker got special treatment in the helicopter from "his Annie"

 Tate was LOVING it too!
The helmet was too heavy! Parker is often quiet and likes to observe when he is really thrilled about something. He is just taking it all in. Tate on the other hand, shows every emotion. You don't have to guess what he is thinking!
 Holding the fire hose.

This was a National Night Out event they do every year in Maple Grove. There were soooo many emergency vehicles that we didn't have time to go through all of them. There were vehicles I had never seen before. We were there for 2 hours and didn't see everything. They also had free hot dogs, chips, cookies, drinks and even snow cones. Parker wanted to bring a snow cone to Annie, so he did :)
We stayed to watch Annie take off. The take off didn't disappoint! Annie waved at Parker right before she closed the door to the helicopter as the blades were warming up. There was a large crowd watching the take off and most people thought she was waving to the crowd so they waved back. Parker said, "no! that's MY Annie!" He knew the wave was for him :)
The force of the wind was crazy! I thought the kids were going to blow away!
That night, we went to our neighborhood party. We had dinner, played games, won prizes (gift cert. to Culvers!) and the boys got balloon art. Tate got a dog and Parker got a sword. Tate popped his that night and was very sad. Of course Parker was very careful with his sword and gave it to Tate to make him happy. That is so typical of Parker.

I love your new pictures and comments especially about the National Night Out. It really is so cool that my sister flies in a helicopter for a living as a nurse!
